Bernie's mom has been here since friday, and it's been pretty fun. She can only stay for the weekend, though, so she's leaving in the morning - Bernie's probably going to get up to take her to the airport right around when I'm turning in for the night. Er, morning. Whatever. I've been squeezing little bits and pieces of work in where I can, but really not getting as much done as I'd like - I need to try to make a push tonight, see where i can get.
Last night was Mel's birthday, so a bunch of us (Me, Bernie, Dave, Mel, DevilGirl, and the Wrench) went to the Benihana up north - I'd never been before, and it's, uh, weird. Sure not like your regular japanese restaurant, that's for sure. The food was pretty okay, though, and the hokey spectacle was entertaining enough, I guess. Plus, blue drinks are always a good thing. Afterwards, we all went back to Dave and Mel's for the opening of presents and the eating of the super awesome tres leches cake from Habana.
Today, the gastric carnage continued with a visit to the Salt Lick BBQ. There was a pretty big crowd, so we had to wait outside for a good while and listen to some crappy folk singer, but man, it was worth it. I think that turkey was a little bit too tender to be legal. We made the strategic decision to get pie for dessert, but take it home for later, after digestion cleared out a little room, and that worked out just fine.
Mmmm, pie.
