What a great improv weekend.
On Thursday, saw two shows at Coldtowne - "Spices" with Shannon McCormick telling stories of his adventures on the high seas, and Parallelogramophonograph's "After School Special" show, which is exactly what it sounds like, only awesomer.
On Friday, watched the Threefer with the Leading Brands, McNichol and May, and Curtis Needs A Ride, then the Double Barrel with Pgraph's one year anniversary show and a musical from Girls, Girls, Girls! Then, the Cagematch with Chris Trew and Arthur Simone Sing Songs From "Rent" and Andrea anc Cody's bit, something Sunhine OBGYN and a Purple Bear With No Birthday. It was long, anyway, and super funny.
On Saturday, there was a good Gorilla Theatre, then I played Maestro and won, and then stayed for the AIC Lieography show, where I played a fictionaly history of Woodrow Wilson.
On Sunday, went to the Artist's Way meeting, then hung out in an alley downtown dressed as a ninja for the Go Game, then ran over to the AIC Awards ceremony - IFE won the award for having the best schwag, and Jason won best party house, and Bob got a special tech ninja award for working his ass off on the websites and whatnot. Appreciating your tech dudes == good.
Whew.
Today, I'm off to work in an office downtown. Then, more work from home. Yay, contracting.
Also, we're at 36 weeks! Soon!
If anyone ever suggests that you buy a Toshiba Satellite laptop, punch them in the nuts and run away as fast as you can. Unless you really enjoy field-stripping your computer and don't mind re-soldering the loose power coupling every couple of months. I'm getting pretty tired of this, and I'm really having trouble finding a laptop that doesn't either suck, or cost way too much.
I'll miss my sticker collection.
This is insidious.

Whoever came up with that whole XBox Live thing, and the gamer points, and the friends watching what other friends play thing - whoever that was, they're an evil, evil genius. I find myself wanting to play games on the 360 instead of other platforms, because of this. Evil.
Also, ChromeHounds? Eh.
Also, I've got all kinds of bruises and stuff all over from last night. I think I know where most of them came from.
Bernie's lady friends (and assorted lady-like man-friends) had her baby shower this afternoon, so a bunch of my troupe-mates and assorted lady-like lady friends decided that I needed an anti-shower. After the Evil ones (with attached Girl) assembled at our house, we started off on our road trip to La Grange, on which we stopped at many establishments beginning with a "W", including the Waffle House and Weikels, returning with full bellies and poppy seed rolls. Cigars were obtained. We headed to the Hideout theater. Many glasses of absinthe were drunk. Shows were performed in dubious conditions. Time was lost. The last images I have are of a woman in a gorilla suit and a man on the catwalk with a gun. This was a good day.
